NEW YORK, March 19 (UPI) — Actress Willow Shields says she and Jennifer Lawrence have become “like sisters” during their time shooting the movie adaptation of the Hunger Games saga.
Shields, 14, spoke to Access Hollywood about her relationship with the Oscar-winner, while promoting her stint in the 20th season of Dancing With The Stars on Wednesday.
“She’s so supportive of everything I do,” Shields said of Lawrence, adding that the best advice she’s received from her is “to stay who [she is].”
“I think she knew that these films were going to just blow up and I didn’t yet,” Willow continued. “She was like stay who you are. That’s the only way you’re going to be successful in this industry is to kind of be humble and stay who you are because obviously they cast you for a reason.”
The actress went on to say that Lawrence has stayed “grounded” and “humble” even after achieving super stardom.
“She’s an inspiration to me,” she said. “She’s never changed this entire series, which is the most incredible thing you can see.”
Shields plays Lawrence’s younger sister Prim in the Hunger Games films. She currently is the youngest contestant to ever compete on DWTS.
“We’re keeping it very age appropriate,” she said of her routine with partner Mark Ballas. “Mark and I have put a lot of thought into making sure that it’s just fun. Our first dance was just fun and sassy.”
