Wrestler Kurt Angle’s brother charged with homicide

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 21 (UPI) — The brother of Olympian and professional wrestler Kurt Angle has been charged with homicide in the death of his wife, Donna Angle.

David Angle, 62, is in jail and awaits arraignment. The Allegheny County police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “Dormont police and paramedics responded at 6:24 a.m. to the 1000 block of Peermont Avenue for report of a domestic disturbance and a woman not breathing. There they found Mrs. Angle unresponsive on the floor of the living room. David Angle told them the couple had a dispute and he kneeled on his wife’s chest and pulled her arms.”

Donna Angle was taken to St. Clair Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:13 a.m.

According to the Post-Gazette report, by Molly Born and Adam Smeltz, the couple had an argument revolving around alcohol and Angle’s “anger issues.”

“Dave’s a good person,” Dormont neighbor Joe Setticase told the Post-Gazette. “Whatever happened, I’m going to pray for him. This isn’t what Dave is. Donna was a sweetheart.”

Angle’s manager, Dave Hawk, offered a short statement to the Post-Gazette.

“Due to the situation, Kurt would appreciate if you can honor his family’s request for privacy at this difficult time,” Hawk told the Post Gazette.
