NEW YORK, April 7 (UPI) — USA Network says it will start airing the professional wrestling program {i:WWE Smackdown} early next year.
The cable television network is already home to the hit WWE shows {i:Monday Night Raw} and {i:Tough Enough}. {i:Smackdown} currently airs on Syfy.
“WWE consistently delivers one of the largest and most socially engaged live audiences in entertainment and we’re excited to expand our long-standing relationship and be the true cable home for the WWE fan,” USA Network President Chris McCumber said in a statement Tuesday.
“WWE is proud to have {i:SmackDown} join {i:Raw} as part of our expanded partnership with USA Network,” added WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon. “The combination of the No. 1 cable network and two ratings juggernauts provides a destination for our viewers and an extraordinary platform for our partners.”
