LOS ANGELES, April 25 (UPI) — X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has shared a new image from the film, potentially revealing mutant character The Blob.

Posted to Instagram Sunday, the snap features X-Men Angel (Ben Hardy) standing over a defeated opponent inside a cage that heavily resembles The Blob.

“Mutant Martial Arts. Light as a feather. #MMA #Xmen #xmenApocalypse,” Singer captioned the photo hinting at Angel’s ability to take on the larger foe.

The Blob was last seen on film in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine played by Kevin Durand.

In the original comics, The Blob is featured as a devout member of Magneto’s villainous Brotherhood of Mutants who continually clash with the X-Men. The Blob is known to have superhuman strength, endurance and near impenetrable skin.

Releasing in theaters May 27, X-Men: Apocalypse features the last of the X-Men remaining from 2014’s Days of Future Past including leader Professor X (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult) as earth’s only defense in the film as they accompany a team of rookie heroes including Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Quicksilver (Evan Peters) and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee) in order to take on new threat Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen consisting of Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy) and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).
