LOS ANGELES, July 20 (UPI) — Vin Diesel is back in the first explosive trailer for Paramount Pictures upcoming action sequel, xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
The clip, released Tuesday, features Diesel once again as death-defying and rebellious special agent Xander Cage who is brought back into the NSA for one last mission.
Also returning is Samuel L. Jackson as NSA Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons who summons Cage after explaining how the world needs ” a different kind of solider” with the “skills and attitude to take on threats we don’t even know exist.”
Featuring explosions, extreme sports sequences, and Diesel’s signature one-liners, the trailer also showcases Ruby Rose’s sniper wielding character who proclaims that the influx “guns, girls and global domination” signify the return of Cage.
Directed by D.J. Caruso and also starring Deepika Padukone and Nina Dobrev, xXx: Return of Xander Cage is due in theaters Jan. 20, 2017.
