Former Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Wednesday regarding his new role as senior adviser to the Convention of States Project and offered his reaction to Attorney General Sessions’ congressional testimony.

DeMint said the Convention of the States Project is proposing constitutional amendments “in three subject areas. One is to restrain the federal government fiscally, that being spending, taxation, and debt.”

“The other is to restrain the jurisdiction and authority of the federal government.” He added that “they’ve gone way outside the Tenth Amendment into all areas of our lives, and there needs to be a constitutional amendment that focuses the federal government on what it’s supposed to do.”

“The third thing is,” added Demint, “to limit the terms of federal officials, and those could be congressmen, senators, or judges.” He went on to point out that the convention itself would decide the details, including what those terms might be.

Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.
