Mercedes Schlapp, Fox News contributor, columnist, & co-host of “CPAC 365” on SiriusXM Patriot spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Friday regarding President Trump’s announcement of new policies towards Cuba.

Schlapp’s Father was a political prisoner under Cuba’s Castro regime.

Schlapp said, “I think that President Trump is striking the right balance on Cuba policy. What we witnessed last year with President Obama in his interaction and just cozy relationship with the dictator Raoul Castro … while you have thousands of dissidents who are thrown into jail in Cuba, it was a slap in the face to those of us, to our families, who have lost property, who have lost friends in this battle against this Cuban dictatorship.”

Schlapp added, “I think it is where we need to be headed. He recognizes that those who have benefitted under the changes that President Obama made has been the Cuba government, has been the military intelligence officials in Cuba. They’re the ones who have benefitted from these changes and not the Cuban people.”

Breitbart News Daily airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Eastern.
