Angel Mom Joy English: ‘How Many More Americans Have to Die Before the Politicians Do Their Jobs?’

Angel mom Joy English, whose 27-year-old son was killed by a negligent illegal alien motorist in a hit-and-run accident, joined SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight on Tuesday to discuss with co-hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak the push for amnesty on Capitol Hill.

“How many more Americans have to die before the politicians do their jobs and protect Americans?” asked English.

English’s son, Bradley, was killed on October 27, 2004, after being struck by Israel Cardenas, an illegal alien previously convicted of two DUIs. Bradley had become a father five months prior to his death.

Cardenas was arrested 29 days later after English called the police about a vehicle she saw matching the description of that which fled the scene of the crime. He was released from jail after two years. Authorities told English he was deported due to “overcrowding” in prison.

“There should be no DACA, no deals,” said English. “How many more Americans have to die before the politicians do their jobs and protect Americans? They need to uphold the law that we already have, not add more laws, but uphold the ones that are already there. President Trump promised there would be no amnesty, no DACA, and we believe in him. We trust him. The current laws need to be enforced, and a wall needs to be built.”

Leftists are hostile towards Angel families’ advocacy for border security and immigration reform, said English.

“There are so many people – especially on social media – that accuse Angel moms and dads and people that have lost loved ones due to illegal aliens, they accuse us of using their deaths as a platform,” said English. “I live in Indiana. NFL player Edwin Jackson and Jeffrey Monroe, who were killed by an illegal in Indiana – I’m reading statements from people that are saying, ‘You are just using their deaths as a political platform.’ To them, I have one question: Why don’t you picture eight people or so in your living room, throw in a couple of babies, a couple of children, a couple of friends, grandpa, a couple of your children and relatives, spouses, and just picture them in your living room – and I want you just pick one who is going to be killed by an illegal, and then tell me how you would feel? Would you remain silent? Would you not talk about it? Would you thank the illegal alien that killed your loved one? Would you enjoy people telling you you’re using their deaths as a political platform?”

“You’ll always notice, they go straight to the jugular,” said English of her left-wing political detractors. “They never say, ‘I’m sorry for your loss.’ These liberals, they never say, ‘I’m sorry for your loss.’ They go straight and say, ‘You’re using his death as a political platform.’ That’s what’s wrong.”

Asked to offer a message to President Donald Trump on the issue of border security and immigration reform, English expressed opposition to amnesty.

“I would ask him to fulfill the promises that he promised during his campaign,” said English. “I met President Donald Trump, and I believe he’s the real deal. I believe that he’s doing the best he can. I trust that he is. And the Remembrance Project, they believe in him. We believe in him.”

Illegal immigration burdens American taxpayers via state-run programs, such as schools and policing, noted English. Illegal immigrants also depress wages while consuming healthcare services they don’t pay for, she added.

“They just keep getting handed things,” said English. “Illegal aliens, I just can’t believe how protected they are in sanctuary cities. Can you imagine, doing the crimes and then just going into a sanctuary city and living your life? It’s just not right, and something needs to be done.”
