Breitbart News Senior Legal Editor Ken Klukowski joined SiriusXM hosts Joel Pollak and Rebecca Mansour Tuesday on Breitbart News Tonight, Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s federal lawsuit against California’s sanctuary city laws, in which Sessions asserts that three California statutes violate the U.S. Constitution.

Sessions’s U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) filed the lawsuit Tuesday night, arguing that three new California laws – HB 103, HB 450, and SB 54 – are null and void. Specifically, Sessions’s court filing contends that these California statutes violates the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause, and was immediately followed by his DOJ lawyers filing a motion for preliminary injunction, asking the court to block California’s laws promptly while the litigation is ongoing.

“This case shows the incredible value that Attorney General Jeff Sessions brings to President Donald Trump and his administration,” Klukowski told Pollak and Mansour. “This is an incredibly bold move. It is one that will thrill the president’s political base, and it goes to the heart of the president’s MAGA agenda.”

Klukowski predicted that liberal judges might deliver setbacks to DOJ early in the litigation and thus that Sessions is in this fight for the long-term, but believed that Sessions can prevail for the Trump administration in the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Few public leaders would have had the principled courage to take this move,” Klukowski added in praise of Sessions.
