'Melo on Altercation with Garnett: 'It's Over with for Me'

On Tuesday, New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony said he has put the altercation he had with Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett on Monday behind him, a day after their on court scuffle nearly escalated off the court.

After the game, Anthony reportedly went into the Celtics locker room in a fit of rage, yelling at Garnett. Anthony also waited for Garnett by the Boston Celtics’ team bus, but Knicks head coach Mike Woodson restrained him from escalating the situation further.

“It’s over with for me. Whatever happened last night, happened. The words that was being said between me and Garnett, it happened, can’t take that away,” Anthony said. “I lost my cool yesterday, I accept that, but there’s just certain things that push certain people’s buttons.”

According to the Associated Press, Anthony said he believed nothing happened after the game for him to be fined or suspended.

Anthony also indicated Garnett’s words to him crossed the line.

“There’s certain things that you just don’t say to men, another man,” Anthony said. “I felt like we crossed a line, but like I said, we both have an understanding right now, we handled it the way we handled it. Nobody needs to know what was said behind closed doors, so that situation was handled.”
