Washington Nationals center fielder Denard Span tweeted he watched a YouTube video presumably posted by the Sandy Hook “truthers,” who are claiming the government could have staged the Sandy Hook murders so it could more easily take away people’s guns, and that it made him “think and wonder.”
Here is Span’s tweet on Wednesday:
I was watching some controversial stuff on YouTube about the sandy hooks thing today! It really makes u think and wonder

Those involved in the Sandy Hook truther movement have harassed the relatives of those who were murdered at the elementary school in addition to other residents, like James Rosen, who helped elementary students who had fled the school on the day of the shooting. The YouTube video claiming the Sandy Hook tragedy was a hoax has been viewed over 8 million times.
When confronted on Twitter by those who urged Span to ignore the truthers, Span tweeted, “All I said was that watching the stuff made u wonder and think.. That is all.”
