PETA to Dale, Jr.: Can We Advertise on Your Car?

PETA, the radical animal rights organization, has asked NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr., the sports most popular driver and son of the legendary Dale Earnardt, to allow them to advertise on his NASCAR car.

The organization wrote a letter to Earnhardt asking him to “consider using the available space on your beautiful car as an opportunity to spread a lifesaving spay-and-neuter message.”

“By placing a message on your car that encourages people to have their animals spayed or neutered, you would be reaching countless NASCAR fans with the lifesaving message that fixing animals helps curb the overpopulation of dogs and cats and drastically reduces suffering,” PETA Associate Director Michelle Cho wrote in a letter.

Earnhardt drives for owner Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports. Hendrick announced this week that they were still looking to find the right deal to fill out the sponsorships for Earnhardt’s car for the upcoming NASCAR season. Hendrick said he was looking for the “right deal” instead of just “any deal,” and it is fair to say PETA’s offer will probably not be seriously considered.
