Te'o Hoax Perpetrator Demonstrates 'Lennay' Voice to Dr. Phil

In Friday’s episode of “Dr. Phil,” Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the perpetrator of the Manti Te’o fake girlfriend hoax, demonstrated the female voice he allegedly used to snooker the Notre Dame linebacker.

Tuiasosopo, who also claimed he had been molested and was not sure if he was gay, demonstrated the Lennay voice behind a screen and on a phone call. Dr. Phil McGraw, the host of the show, said Tuiasosopo performed the voice in front of the show’s producer.

According to Deadspin, the outlet that broke the Te’o hoax story, the “recording was sent to voice analysts, one of whom concluded Tuiasosopo was ‘a true talent’ who had abilities the analyst had never seen before. All three experts concluded the voice matched those from the voicemails.”
