New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, will use children in an anti-gun ad the group will run in the Washington, D.C. market in the second half of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
According to CNN, the “ad features stock photos and an audio track of children” and appears to be “designed to put pressure on Washington and the National Rifle Association to support background checks on all gun purchases.”
“The NRA once supported background checks,” a child says in the ad.
This message will then follow on screen: “Background checks for all gun purchases. It’s time.”
The ad is a part of the anti-gun group’s “campaign to ‘demand a plan’ to prevent gun violence” will air on Washington, D.C.’s CBS affiliate.
The White House has also exploited children to try and get more popular support for its gun control agenda and also had children around President Barack Obama when he signed his executive actions dealing with gun control.
The group did not disclose how much it paid for the ad buy in the D.C. market.
