NOLA Mayor Landrieu (D): Power Outage Won't Hurt Chances to Host 2018 Super Bowl

On Monday, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, a Democrat, said the 34-minute power outage during the 2013 Super Bowl will not hurt the city’s chances of hosting the Super Bowl in 2018.

Appearing on WWL-AM, Landrieu “said league owners were impressed with the city’s performance” as the event’s host, and the power outage was just an “abnormality.”

He “joked that the game got better after the blackout,” saying, “we had to do a little something to spice it up.”
