NY Blizzard Strands Knicks, Spurs, Nets

The blizzard that is punishing the northeast has stranded the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, and the Brooklyn Nets.

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson said the team’s flight out of Minnesota has been postponed. The Nets were stranded in Washington, D.C. after losing to the Wizards 89-74. San Antonio was stranded in Detroit after losing 119-109 to the Pistons.

The Knicks beat Minnesota 100-94 in Minnesota, and the team had planned to travel back to New York after the game to prepare for their game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Madison Square Garden – in New York – on Sunday. San Antonio plays at Brooklyn on Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, “Woodson says the team plans to get up on Saturday morning and go over scouting for the Clippers at the hotel before trying to leave for New York.”

The blizzard is expected to leave one to three feet of snow in the northeast this weekend.
