Chicago Blackhawks Break NHL Record for Best Start to Season

The Chicago Blackhawks broke the NHL record for the most consecutive games without a regulation loss to start a season when they defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 at home on Friday.

Chicago forward Brandon Saad scored a short-handed goal in the third period to give the Blackhawks the win–and the record.

The Blackhawks (14-0-3) have tallied a point in 17 straight games to start the season.

After the Sharks’ Patrick Marleau scored to give San Jose an early 1-0 lead, Chicago scored two unanswered goals to go into history books.
