UCLA kept pace with Oregon to stay atop the Pac-12 conference by defeating No. 11 Arizona at a sold-out Pauley Pavilion 74-69 on Saturday night.
The Bruins (22-7, 12-4) and Oregon (23-6, 12-4) are tied for first in the conference. Arizona, 11-6 in the conference, is now fourth. Cal, 12-5 in the conference, is in third.
Shabazz Muhammad scored 18 points for the Bruins and his teammates Kyle Anderson and Larry Drew III scored 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Arizona, a talented but up-and-down team, was limping into the game after a loss to USC on Thursday and they left Southern California this weekend without a win on the swing. UCLA also swept the season series against Arizona.
UCLA has not won a conference title since the 2007-08 season, and the team seems to be peaking at the right time and could be a dangerous team in the NCAA tournament.
