March Madness: Robert Morris Wins, Keeps Home Advantage for Northeast

Robert Morris won the regular season title in the Northeast Conference, and now gets home court through the rest of the tournament including what they hope will be a championship game on March 12 to determine who goes to the NCAA tournament. While www.kenpom.com says they are the best team in the conference at 128th overall, the talent is evenly spread out. Wednesday Robert Morris beat the best player in the conference, as St. Francis’ Jalen Cannon is the 46th best low-major player according to www.valueaddbasketball.com.

Wagner, the No. 2 seed, also won with a balanced attack, as they have none of the top eight players in the conference. The top eight players and teams are listed below. You can follow the results by clicking here.

Wednesday’s results, with seeds, were:

#8 St. Francis Brooklyn 57 at #1 Robert Morris 75

#7 CCSU 50 at #2 Wagner 72

#6 Quinnipiac 83 at #3 LIU Brooklyn 91

#5 Mount St. Mary’s 75 at #4 Bryant 69
