March Madness: Belmont and Murray State Enjoy Byes During Wednesday's Games

The Ohio Valley Conference could argue that they are actually a mid-major with Belmont and Murray State together and an improving Eastern Kentucky. All of the top eight players (see below) on www.valueaddbasketball.com are among the Top 40 low-major players in the country. The rest of the country needs to hope Belmont wins the conference since they will go to the tournament regardless. If Isaiah Canaan and Murray State or any other school can upset Belmont, it would give the OVC two teams and cost a Middle 20 team a spot.

Murray State and Belmont receive a double bye, but 3-seed Eastern Kentucky is slightly better than Murray State based on www.kenpom.com. To follow tournament results click here.

Wednesday 5-seed Morehead State beat 8-seed Tennessee-Martin 73-66 and 6-seed SE Missouri State beat 7-seed Eastern Illinois 78-68. Tennessee Tech also received a bye as a 4-seed.
