San Diego was one of 230 teams still alive to go all the way until well after midnight Eastern time. All they had to do was pull off the overtime game against St. Mary’s Saturday … and then beat No. 1 Gonzaga Monday night. When they finally did fall, it made San Diego the 118th team to be eliminated. The alphabetical list below is the list on which you do not want to see your team.
The conference tournaments in essence create a national tournament that gives almost every team a chance, so most were eliminated by a “tournament lost.” A few were not allowed to play due to academic requirements not being met by the ACC, and some were not allowed to compete in a conference tournament.
