Bubba Watson Buys Tiger's Infamous Mansion

Carefree golfer Bubba Watson purchased Tiger Woods’s infamous mansion he once shared with his former wife Elin Nordegren.

Woods’s former house is in Orlando’s gated Isleworth community. It is at that house where Nordegren reportedly intercepted a text message from one of Woods’s many mistresses during Thanksgiving weekend in 2009. Minutes after, Woods crashed his car into a fire hydrant. After women came out of the woodwork after the incident, Woods’s life and golf game completely fell apart and he has not won a major since.

Watson and his wife recently was finally able to adopt a child after years of being unsuccessful.

The 2012 Masters champion who never took a golf lesson and eccentrically swings a pink driver, told Golf.com he “looked at probably 50 houses before I looked at Tiger’s.”

“A lot of the houses there are old, and we ended up changing everything,” Watson said.

Watson, who will move in next week, said he also did considerable remodeling.

“We probably saved maybe five percent of it. We built it all around Caleb. There are like three playrooms.”

Watson, the 2012 Masters champion, told Golf.com this week at Doral that the house he decided on purchasing in Florida belonged to none other than Tiger Woods, a Ryder Cup teammate of Bubba’s and former practice round playing partner.

The house is in Orlando’s gated Islesworth community and while it belonged to Tiger at one point, it won’t resemble much of what Woods was used to.

“I looked at probably 50 houses before I looked at Tiger’s,” Bubba Watson said. “A lot of the houses there are old, and we ended up changing everything. We probably saved maybe five percent of it. We built it all around Caleb. There are like three playrooms.”

Bubba was a former Scottsdale, Ariz. resident but is moving to Florida after he and wife Angie adopted their baby boy a year ago, and I think it’s cool that he settled on Tiger’s house.

We hear of celebrities in Los Angeles buying former celebrities houses all the time, but for golfers it’s the Florida area where that appears to happen. Watson plans to move in next week, and if he keeps up his play at Doral might be
