The following are the 38 teams that still have a shot at an NCAA bid, while you can click here for the 52 already in the tournament. The Breitbart Sports Middle 20 ranks the schools we believe are most deserving of the final eight at-large tournament bids. The 18 teams listed after that are teams that will not receive an at-large bid, but are still alive in their conference tournament. Vanderbilt and UMass are the two “spoilers” on that list that could take spots away from Middle 20 teams if they win the SEC and Atlantic 10.
The Middle 20 has been lucky, as Western Kentucky is the only spoiler so far – that being a team that takes an extra tournament spot. However Vanderbilt (pictured) hammered Kentucky and UMass upset Temple to make the semifinals. If they both won, then only six of the Middle 20 would make the tournament. While we would take 1st through 6th on that basis, we will not know until Sunday at 6 pm ET when the brackets are announced.
