Oregon Ducks Beat Wounded Bruins for Pac-12 Title

The Oregon Ducks came into the Pac-12 tournament with some doubt about whether they had a guaranteed spot in the NCAA tournament.

There are no more doubts after the Ducks beat a wounded UCLA Bruins squad 78-69 to capture the Pac-12 title on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UCLA (25-9), after beating Arizona on Saturday, seemed to be gelling at the right time, but UCLA’s star Jordan Adams broke his foot on the last play of Saturday’s game. He was promptly ruled out for the season, and UCLA felt his loss in the title game.

Carlos Emery led the Ducks (26-8) with 20 points. Shabazz Muhammad and Larry Drew II led the Bruins with 14 points apiece.

Oregon sealed the game two thunderous dunks in the final minutes of the game.

The Bruins, a team that seemed primed to make a deep run in March, now face an uncertain tournament future without Adams.
