Shut Out: No Teams from Texas in Men's Basketball Tourney

The state of Texas has no college basketball teams in this year’s NCAA tournament.

Fortunately for Texas, the state still has Brittney Griner and the Baylor Lady Bears, the top women’s college basketball team in the country that will give the state plenty of college basketball excitement and buzz the next three weeks.

Baylor’s men’s basketball team, which made the Elite Eight the last two years, had been on the bubble all season long and the pressure seems to have gotten to them, as they could not put together a string of victories down the stretch to make the tournament.

Schools like Texas, which has traditionally had a strong basketball program, struggled mightily this year and needed to win the Big 12 tournament to get a bid.
