Obama to RGIII: Protect Yourself

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III crossed paths at the Verizon Center as Syracuse and Marquette fought for the first spot in the Final Four on Saturday. The president, whom Breitbart Sports reported was the recipient of more than a fair share of boos during his appearance, was not short on advice for the young superstar.

Obama, whose football experience is as extensive as his experience creating jobs, told RGIII to “protect himself.” The president previously said that he would not allow his sons, if he had any, to play football due to the lack of safety. It seems that Obama could have ambition to one day supplant Roger Goodell as NFL Commissioner to complete the transformation of the NFL to a non-contact sport.

While Obama received boos and has failed to be a post-partisan, unifying figure in the nation or even in the capital, RGIII has soared. Able to unite Washington in a way the president has failed to do, he is among the game’s most popular and dynamic players, and his jersey was the top seller in his rookie season.
