$46 Million Revis Will Play Against Jets Opening Day

The day after Breitbart Sports noted that Darrelle Revis could take the field in the Jets opener – in the opposing uniform – ESPN and AP have reported that is the case. The best cover cornerback in the NFL will take the remainder of his $46 million contract to Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Breitbart Sports noted that the opening weekend game, “could be the second most evenly matched game – just because both teams are so bad.”

The Buccaneers gave up the most passing yards of any team in the NFL last year at 297 per game, while the Jets were next to best with only 190 a game allowed – though the efforts was wasted due to a terrible offense. The Buccaneers did have 18 interceptions – a top 10 figure that could get better if Revis continues to eliminated half the field and force quarterbacks to throw into double coverage on the other side of the field.
