Study: CNN Covered Collins Nine Times More in 24 Hours Than It Did Gosnell In One Week

On the day NBA basketball player Jason Collins came out and became the first active male openly gay player in major professional sports, CNN gave his story over nine times more airtime than it gave the Kermit Gosnell trial in a week, according to a Media Research Center study.

The report found that in the 24 hours after Collins’s Monday announcement in Sports Illustrated, CNN spent over 76 total minutes covering and discussing Collins’s announcement.
