Washington Nationals superstar Bryce Harper had to leave the game in the fifth inning after a nasty collision Monday night with the right field scoreboard at Dodger Stadium.
Trying to flag a ball hit by Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis, Harper crashed into the scoreboard and staggered to the ground. He had blood over his neck as he eventually walked off the field under his own power. He was down for a considerable amount of time near the warning track.
Dodgers announcer Vin Scully may have described it best when he, as always, perfectly said, “Harper just kept going back and the next thing you know, the scoreboard hit him.”
It is unknown what Harper’s condition is at the time of this writing.
