Ageless Wonder Rivera on Pace to Break Saves Record

Ageless Wonder Rivera on Pace to Break Saves Record

In his final season in the Major Leagues, Mariano Rivera, the game’s all-time saves leader, is off to a blistering start, converting his first 16 save opportunities and on pace to break the all-time single-season saves record.

After getting his 16th save of the season in the Yankees victory over Seattle on Wednesday, Rivera is on pace for 66 saves, which would break Francisco Rodriguez’s record of 62 saves, a record he set in 2008.

Rivera now has 624 career saves, which is the best in baseball history.
