The last few months have not gone well for Keenan Allen. A slow recovery from injury, an even slower forty time, and marijuana use saw his draft status plummet from being a sure first rounder to becoming a third round selection.
Now, he has quickly angered fans of the team willing to take a chance on him.
As a newly minted San Diego Charger, Allen made the dreadful mistake of posting on the internet a photo of himself wearing an Oakland Raiders hat. Such a gesture would surely be a slap in the face to any NFL team and their fan base, but the Raiders also happen to be an AFC West foe and much hated rival of the Chargers.
Fans were livid with Allen, and the receiver took to Twitter to apologize numerous times. The Chargers must now hope that Allen rewards them for the risk they took in selecting him with no further lapses in judgement.
