Warriors Closer to Getting New SF Arena Approved

The California state Assembly cleared a “procedural step” on Thursday in Golden State’s efforts to build an arena in San Francisco.

According to the Associated Press, the bill that passed “authorizes the city’s port commission to approve using waterfront land for the proposed arena. Significant public access to the site must be retained.”

Golden State wants to open the arena in San Francisco in time for the 2017 season.

The bill, AB1273, passed on a 50-9 vote and it now goes to the Senate.
