San Francisco Giants closer Sergio Romo released a video last week for a DREAM Act advocacy group. His video is playing on the San Francisco Giants website.
Romo, a first generation American of Mexican descent, refers viewers to the “Dream Is Now” campaign that supports comprehensive immigration reform.
“When I hear of a student being undocumented, I take it as kids going to school and trying to learn to get better. I don’t find anything negative in that,” Romo says in the video. “They deserve a chance to live their dream, and we all win if they do.”
The website Romo refers viewers to is one that advocates “common sense immigration reform that includes the principles of the DREAM Act” in order to fix “America’s broken immigration system” in order to give “undocumented youth and their families the chance to earn their citizenship.”
