Navy to Charge 3 Football Players with Rape

The U.S. Naval Academy will charge three football players with the sexual assault of a female midshipman.

According to the Military Times, “the three players have not been named by the Naval Academy as the Navy has yet to complete the official charge sheet,” but the case will go to “Article 32 proceedings.”

The female midshipman victim reportedly “attended a party at an off-campus property known as the ‘football house’ in Annapolis in April 2012” and woke up the next morning with, according to her lawyer, “little recall of what had occurred.”

She reportedly later discovered “through friends and social media that three football players had ‘sexual intercourse with her while she was incapacitated,'” according to a statement from her lawyer.
