Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said on Sunday he was “optimistic” Jonathan Toews will be able to play in Game 6 in Boston in the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday.
Boston’s Johnny Boychuk nailed Toews in the second period on Saturday in Chicago’s Game 5 win and Toews head hit the ice. The Blackhawks lead the series 3-2 and can close it out on Monday.
“Johnny is doing much better [Sunday,]” Quenneville said at TD Garden. “He’s progressing. We’re optimistic he’ll play [Monday] night.”
