Hernandez Moved to New Cell Away from General Prison Population

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been moved to a single cell in jail with no cellmates because of his high-profile status.

According to the Bristol County Sheriff, Hernandez has to be careful with “people in prison who would like to make a name for themselves.”

Other reports have noted that “when Hernandez is in the common areas of the jail, no other inmates will be there at the same time. He is allowed one hour to shower, an hour outside and an hour to see visitors.”

“He doesn’t seem nervous, which is unusual for someone who’s never been incarcerated before,” the Sheriff reportedly said.

Officials are also worried that Hernandez may have possible links to gangs that could make him a target if he stays with the general prison population.

Hernandez has pled not guilty to the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd. He was denied bail twice, which is why he will remain in jail until his trial starts.
