Putin to Critics of Russian Sports: Take Viagra

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave some stiff advice to critics of Russia’s record-breaking success at the World University Games: Use Viagra.

Critics of Russia’s dominance at the event suggested Russia violated the spirit of the event by using Olympic-level athletes, as opposed to university students. The Russian team won six times more gold medals than any other team in the games.

India.com’s Zee News reported the Putin said of his detractors, “I’d like to advise them to take up sport themselves, and if they have any health issues to go see a doctor. At the end of the day, maybe they should try some Viagra and then life would get better, would reveal some of its vivid and beautiful sides, and they would see the future.”

Russia hosted the 2013 World University games in Kazan. The home team was expected to do well, but the Russians wildly exceeded expectations. Russia won 155 gold medals. China finished second in the medal count with 26.

This is not the first time the fiery Russian leader has has made sexual references regarding his critics. He once said critics of his military campaign in Chechnya should be circumcised.
