Breitbart Sports introduces the Baseball Value Add database to allow baseball fans to search the rankings of each pitcher or individual game. Justin Masterson has two of the six 9-inning, 1-0 shutout performances this season (0.9 Value Add-Raw), while the ballpark adjustment gives even more credit to Jorge De La Rosa for making one run of net supporting holding up for a win IN COORS FIELD (Value Add after Adjustment).
In searching for the best supported and least supported pitchers by clicking “ERA Needed,” Stephen Strasburg has needed a 1.34 ERA to win on an average night, the second least support in baseball. Max Sherzer has needed a 7.08 ERA, the second best support in baseball.
However, in the more important game-by-game tab, Strasburg could have won with any ERA under 5.00 in six of his 19 games.
