One-Handed Basketball Player Receives Offer to Play at Florida

Zach Hodskins is a high school guard from Georgia with only one hand, but he has been given an offer to walk-on Florida’s college basketball team with a chance at receiving a scholarship down the line.

Florida coach Billy Donovan made the offer to Hodskins, who “was so impressive during the 2013 summer AAU circuit that one recruiting site selected him as the most impressive prospect among some of the nation’s top players at the ScoutsFocus All-American Camp in Charlottesville, Va., in June,” according to Yahoo! Sports.

When I’m out [on the court], I forget my arm isn’t there and just play ball. Passion and love for the sport helps me overcome all obstacles,” he said. “To this day. I haven’t come across anything I can’t do.”

Hodskins reportedly has full scholarship offers from at least two other college basketball programs.
