Fifth Vanderbilt Football Player Arrested In Connection With Rape

Chris Boyd is the fifth Vanderbilt football player arrested in connection with a rape in a dorm on the Nashville, TN campus on June 23rd. Two men from California were arrested with him.

Last week, Corey Batey, Brandon Vandenburg, Brandon Banks, and Jaborian McKenzie were arrested on charges of raping a 21-year-old female victim while she was unconscious. The alleged rape took place in Vandenburg’s room. All the men were kicked off the team and banned from campus. They were all charged with five counts of aggravated rape and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Authorities claim Boyd gave advice to the defendants after they were indicted. Police charged him with one felony count of being an accessory after the fact. He was booked and released on $250,000 bond. The school suspended him from the team.

Miles Finley and Joseph Quinzio were charged with one felony count each of tampering with evidence. Their bonds are set at $150,000.
