Breitbart Sports went out on a limb prior to April’s NFL Draft by selecting E.J. Manuel as the #1 overall quarterback available. So far, he has proven to be worthy of the lofty ranking.
Manuel was the first quarterback selected when the Buffalo Bills took him with the #16 overall pick. Since then, he has taken a strong lead for their starting job and performed well in preseason action. In two preseason games, Manuel went 26-33 en route to passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns.
After a stellar start to his NFL career, the only thing that has been able to slow the former Seminole down has been a knee injury that will keep him out of the remainder of preseason.
Manuel has undergone an MRI and will have a minor surgery on his knee. Kevin Kolb, who signed with the team this offseason, will start the team’s third game. However, it is unlikely that Kolb can overtake Manuel whose lead in the race is likely insurmountable.
