Police Find Gun in 2012 Double Murder that May Be Linked to Hernandez

Massachusetts police have located the gun used in an unsolved 2012 double murder that may be linked to former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is already facing first-degree murder charges in the killing of Odin Lloyd.

According to CBS 3 of Springfield, MA, police found the gun after a “June 21 car crash on Interstate 91 in Springfield, Mass. during an inventory of the wrecked car. The car belonged to Jailene Diaz-Ramoz of Bristol, Conn. A .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver was in the car’s trunk inside a briefcase. Ballistics testing matched the gun with the bullets fired in the death of two men in Boston in 2012.”

Diaz-Ramos reportedly said the gun belonged to a football player referred to as “Chicago” and was left with her. She “was arraigned in Springfield district court on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and was later released on $1,000 bail.”

Hernandez may have killed Lloyd, according to reports, because he spilled information about what may have been Hernandez’s role in the unsolved 2012 double murder of Daniel Abreu and Safiro Furtado.
