Serena Williams is once again the favorite to win a tournament and is ranked #1 at the US Open. Her way to victory was made easier for her earlier. Spot the person missing from the top 10:

Maria Sharapova dropped out of the US Open on Wednesday due to a right shoulder injury. She was originally ranked #3.
This is Williams tournament to lose, much like Wimbledon. She has won four US Open titles, including last year’s. But she could play Sloane Stephens in the fourth round. Stephens defeated Williams in the quarterfinal at the Australian Open.
The quarterfinals could end up like this: Williams vs. Kerber, Azarenka vs. Kvitova, Agnieszka vs. Na, Errani vs. Wozniacki.
However, Wimbledon was more insane for the women than the men and many of these women either lost or withdrew before the fourth round. It will be exciting to see how they bounce back in the last Grand Slam of the year.
