Report: Texas A&M QB Manziel Suspended for First Half of Opener

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has been suspended for the first half of Texas A&M’s game against Rice on Saturday.

CBS’s Bruce Feldman got a confirmation from the school concerning the initial report.

Manziel and the NCAA reportedly met on Sunday, and Manziel reportedly denied that he had received money for signing autographs. The NCAA has been investigating Manziel after reports surfaced that indicated an associated of his may have accepted money on behalf of Manziel for thousands of pieces of memorabilia Manziel reportedly signed for autograph brokers.

If Manziel is found guilty of accepting payment for autographs, he could receive a more severe suspension.
