Lance Armstrong Returns Bronze Medal from 2000 Olympics

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has returned his bronze medal from the 2000 Olympics after the International Olympic Committee stripped him of the time trial medal in January after Armstrong confessed to Oprah Winfrey that he had doped to win all of his Tour de France titles from 1999-2005.

On Thursday, Armstrong tweeted, “The 2000 Bronze is back in possession of @usolympics and will be in Switzerland asap.”

As the Associated Press noted, the “IOC previously stripped Tyler Hamilton, a former Armstrong teammate, of his time trial gold medal from the 2004 Athens Olympics after he acknowledged doping.”
