LOS ANGELES
The University of Southern California has fired football coach Lane Kiffin.

USC athletic director Pat Haden announced on the school’s website early Sunday that Kiffin has been relieved of his duties. Haden says Kiffin was told of his termination when the team arrived back in Los Angeles after Saturday’s 62-41 loss at Arizona State.

USC has lost seven of its last 11 games. The Trojans are 0-2 in the PAC-12 and 3-2 overall this season.

Kiffin’s overall record in four seasons with the Trojans is 28-15.

The school has scheduled a news conference for later Sunday. A time and location has not been announced.
