Controversy Swirls Around Alabama Win

In college football, coaches are expected to do what they need to do to win. Nevertheless, stealing another teams plays has never been considered an accepted practice, but that is exactly the accusation being thrown around about Alabama during their shutout victory against Ole Miss.

Fans of the Rebels are adamant that Alabama’s Associate Director for Player Personnel, Tyler Siskey, who is a former member of Hugh Freeze’s staff was being used by the Tide to scheme and spy on the Rebels after he was seen with binoculars in the booth during the game.

Announcer Todd Blackledge also made a remark that Siskey was “very involved” in the game preparations against Ole Miss.

Nick Saban, whose defense was dominant Saturday, denied the charges. “He didn’t really assist in the game plan. He wasn’t on the headset,
didn’t talk to anybody during the game,” Saban said at his Monday press conference. “I don’t know if there’s any rule that says he can’t go in
the press box and watch the game. He wasn’t in any different position
than he’s ever been in any game.”

As for Freeze, he complimented Alabama and seemed eager to steer clear of the discussion. His Rebels play Auburn on Saturday in a contest that could decide fourth place in the SEC West.
