The text (pictured in full in the tweet below) that Richie Incognito claimed Jonathan Martin sent in jest in which Martin indicated would he “murder” Incognito’s whole family was apparently an internet meme with puppies, according to Martin’s lawyer David Cornwell.
During an interview on Sunday, Incognito dramatically said Martin sent him a text that was similar to a voicemail Incognito reportedly sent Martin in which Incognito used the “N-word” and threatened to kill Martin.
“A week before this went down, Jonathan Martin texted me, ‘I will murder your whole F–ing family. Now did I think Jonathan Martin was going to murder my family? Not one bit,” Incognito told Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer.
Martin’s lawyer tweeted out the text Martin sent Incognito and asked people to “decide” whether the text was threatening.
