An ad in a Florida newspaper on Monday begged the Jacksonville Jaguars to sign Tim Tebow, promising fans would sell out the stadium if the struggling Jaguars signed him.
The ad is addressed to Jaguars owner Shahid Khan and says, “Sign Tebow & We Will Fill the Stadium.”
It is signed, “Citizens of Jacksonville.” The Times Union has not disclosed who paid for the advertisement.
The Jaguars are 1-9 on the season after Sunday’s 27-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and many NFL observers believe the team should have signed the hometown Tebow at the beginning of the season when the Patriots released him.
According to ESPN’s attendance numbers, the Jaguars average 59,630 fans a game, which is the fourth lowest in the league.
