Golf Pro Spent $1,200 on Ad Urging Jaguars Owner to Sign Tebow

A former PGA Tour golfer was responsible for a newspaper ad in a Florida newspaper on Monday that asked Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Kahn to sign Tim Tebow.

Dewey Arnette said he spent “$1,200 to buy an ad in the Monday editions of the Florida Times-Union” to urge the struggling Jaguars to sign Tebow. He reportedly charges $400 an hour now as a golf pro.

“I don’t really get behind causes and hold up signs,” Arnette told ESPN. “But this was different.”

He said he knows “how supportive people are of Tim Tebow around here. And our standards for the team are just so low right now.”

As Breitbart Sports reported, the ad says, “Dear Mr. Khan, Sign Tim Tebow & we will fill the stadium!” It is signed  by “The Citizens of Jacksonville.”
